Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Mark James III moved to New York City to pursue a career in music after studying Music and Law at university. He performed all over the city with various acts and also around the East Coast. After he was introduced to a production software by a friend, he started making his own music and released his EP Miles Away in 2017, while working as an attorney in New York.
His latest single “System Ovld” (pronounced system overload) is an R&B song without the electronics you tend to hear in most songs within the genre today. With undertones of neo-soul, the Los Angeles-based artist croons over a sublime production that sounds like it’s straight out of the 90’s — an era R&B music was much more appreciated than it is now. Overall it’s a vocally impressive single by an artist whose currently readying his debut album.
