The KTNA Impress On Debut EP “Life Under Siege”

Born In Kenya, raised in Manchester and now based in London, UK; The KTNA are twin sisters Millie and Hope Katana. The exciting and talented soulful duo are one of the most sought-after acts around despite being relatively unknown to many people. They’ve been quietly honing their musical talents over the years, developing a mature sound with introspective lyricism and alluring vocals.

Their debut EP Life Under Siege is a modern day masterpiece filled with brutally honest lyrics, interpretations of universal feelings, emotions and feelings. However the underlying theme/topic throughout the EP is mental health — as a listener you instantly connect with their stories. For instance, they bare their soul on the standout track “OWT”, beautifully singing about a difficult time in their lives.

“I think music has to speak for the people. We don’t make the cheeriest music, but I think it speaks for a lot of people and the way we feel inside. It’s not very nice, and it’s not the prettiest thing in the world.” — Hope.

The lush production throughout the EP infuses noughties R&B, trip-hop with sprinkles of hip-hop flawlessly, creating an outstanding vibe that would be appreciated by both younger and older audiences. There’s a live instrumentation feel to the production too, refreshing to ones ears. The KTNA are the future, they’re going to be around for a very long time.
