YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB releases self-love anthem “Self-Care 101”
Taken from her upcoming second EP, We’re all gonna die anyway, due to drop in June, London-based French-Cameroonian artist and producer YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB returns with her new single, “Self-Care 101”.
Blending indie, pop and rock, she takes listeners on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance, exploring themes of personal growth and empowerment through heartfelt lyrics and emotive melodies. Overall, “Self-Care 101” is a catchy and upbeat indie anthem that should encourage listeners to also reflect on their own experiences and embrace the importance of self-care.
“This song is pretty much a wake up call to myself. I spent way too many years picking on every single little thing about me, worrying about what I didn’t like about myself, and feeling so hopeless about it all instead of living and enjoying my time here. At some point last year, after an eye-opening talk with my mom who’s mentioned in the song, I literally realised I couldn’t go on like this any longer. So I did some work. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m hopeful. This song is my testimony.” — YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB.
