Alt-pop artist Kayls shares new dark pop offering “Standing”.
Rising alt-pop artist Kays recently surpassed 1 million worldwide streams and has received support from notable outlets such as Refinery, LADYGUNN, EARMILK, Ones to Watch and more, as well as a co-sign from Lana Del Rey who called her “Drive Away” track ‘amazing’. She’s back with her new offering “Standing”, a dark pop track built over a hard hatting trap-infused production by Bambor Leany— one of the few female pop producers out there. Despite its length in minutes, “Standing” is an enjoyable track that will keep you engaged from start to finish. Kayls and Leany embrace glitchy production, eerie synths, a sensual vocal performance and honest lyrics.
“I knew Bambor Leany was a genius when I met her and the songs we are making feel revolutionary for female pop music. The perspective and character I’m bringing through these songs is different. Let’s get some songs produced by a female on the charts. If I have to be the one to push for this change, I’m more than happy to do that” — Kayls.
