Favourite EP’s/Albums of 2019

Although a lot of artists prefer releasing singles instead of projects these days, we’ve been blessed with some amazing EP’s and albums this year. Below are our favourite 10 projects of 2019.

ARIES — WELCOME HOME

Infusing alt rap, alternative pop and elements of grunge, Aries dropped one of the best projects this year. Welcome Home is an album with replay value and it stays true to the young Los Angeles-based artists unique sound that has won him so many fans, and will continue to do so in the 2020’s.

BEAM — 95

Jamaican-born Miami-based singer, rapper, songwriter and producer BEAM showcased his versatile on 95 — a project that effortlessly combines hip-hop, dancehall and trap. We’re witnessing the rise of a potential superstar right here.

The KTNA — Life Under Siege

Manchester, UK duo and twin sisters The KTNA delivered one of the best and emotionally-driven EP’s this year. Life Under Siege is bold and beautiful, and quite possibly the most underrated EP of the year.

SAINt JHN — Ghetto Lenny’s Love Songs

Brooklyn-based singer, rapper, songwriter and producer SAINt JHN took his career to a new level with Ghetto Lenny’s Love Songs. The alluring melodic rap flow was still there, the songwriting is still top tier and the first single “Trap” which features Lil Baby, introduced him to mainstream fans.

HEN$HAW — LONDON IS BURNING

Camden, London, UK artist HEN$HAW showcased his rapid-fire delivery and aggressive raps on his debut mixtape London Is Burning. But what impressed listeners the most was his thought-provoking lyrics about society on the excellent standout single “Paper Planes” — a song that has been met with acclaim from both tastemakers and fans.

TESS — Scars and The Moon

Although she may still be unknown to many, French artist Tess is a walking hitmaker. She knows how to create the most catchiest songs without sounding too corny. Scars and The Moon is a beautiful project with a lot of replay value — this ones for fans who love pop music with sprinkles of tropical vibes.

DARCI — Crazy Beautiful Blackout

Darci has been blessing us with hits for the past three years and towards the end of 2019, he finally dropped a project titled Crazy Beautiful Blackout. It features the excellent “Take It Back” a collaboration with London-based producer OZZIE and also showcases his ability to craft memorable late night vibes.

DeathByRomy — Love u — to Death

DeathByRomy is one of the most talented artists in the world and she proves that on her debut EP Love U – to Death. Infusing alternative pop, cloud rap and sprinkles of electronic rock flawlessly, she shines as a vocalist and a writer.

Derek Pope — Poltergeist

Derek Pope’s EP Poltergeist is a hypnotic ride — the project features four catchy songs that have been on repeat this year. The reclusive artist continues to bless us with some of the best music and we’re totally here for it.

H.O.K — Some Dumb Rap Songs

17 year-old UK rapper H.O.K came out of nowhere with his impressive Some Dumb Rap Songs project. It’s a cohesive project that features the rappers dynamic lyricism and ability to rap on any production comfortably.
