Emerging List [Ones to Watch in 2019]

2018 saw quite a lot of emerging acts we’ve followed these past few years make big moves. SAINt JHN finally released his debut album Collection One, Peruvian-American artist A.CHAL’s is on the verge of becoming a star and the once mysterious 6LACK is already a Grammy nominated superstar.

The new year is almost here and we’ve compiled a list of emerging artists you should watch for 2019. It’s another eclectic list featuring artists who have generated a buzz this year, making 2019 look like it’s their year to shine.

Teflon Sega

Teflon Sega is a breath of fresh air. His mesmeric infusion of ethereal alternative R&B and electronic music combined with his breathtaking voice is almost hypnotic. The guest appearance on Felix Snow’s “Boomerang” proved to us that 2019 may just be the year the whole world is finally introduced to his alluring sound.

SIIGHTS

SIIGHTS are an interesting duo made up of Mia Fitz from Ireland and Toni Etherson from Scotland. They infuse elements of funk and electronic music with anthemic pop to create their appealing sound.

Santino Le Saint

The London-based singer, songwriter, producer and guitarist has had a solid 2018 releasing impressive singles such as “Magic” and “Maria Don’t Call Me”. His style of music is reminiscent of The Weeknd’s earlier releases with a slight hint of Prince. Yes, he’s really THAT good.

Wafia

Wafia is an Australian-born artist of Syrian and Iraqi descent. 2018 has been an impressive year for her, and we are predicting 2019 to be an even bigger year as she introduces her delightful electro-pop sound to the rest of the world.

Jade Bird

The 20 year-old BRIT School alumni is unlike anyone else on this list, her pleasant British-spin on Americana has already generated a buzz in the US. She has the potential to be the next British act to succeed in America.

Emotional Oranges

Los Angeles-based alternative pop duo Emotional Oranges have released two captivating singles this year that showed they have a bright future. Timeless music.

kodylavigne

kodylavigne could possibly be the next SoundCloud rapper to blow next year. Not much is known about the young artist, but he does sound a little similar to Juice WLRD — a SoundCloud rapper that stormed to mainstream success this year. Despite the comparison, kodylavigne’s compelling melodic emo rap songs should help him attract new fans in 2019.

19 year-old German singer-songwriter bülow is currently signed to Universal Music Canada. She has already shown flashes of what she’s capable of on her two EP’s Damaged Vol. 1 and Damaged Vol. 2. There’s no doubt she’s going to be a star.

Arlo Parks

18 year-old London-based singer-songwriter Arlo Parks is wise beyond her years. Her excellent single “Cola” showcased her amazing poetic songwriting abilities that has been praised by many critics. Raised in South West London, the artist of Nigerian, Chadian and French descent has an appealing emotionally-driven soulful sound that will connect with listeners.
