French singer-songwriter Morena shares impressive new single “Bad Love”.
It’s always refreshing to hear an emerging artist from France sing in English. In recent years, French-Algerian singer-songwriter Lolo Zouaï has set the pace for Francophone artists by effortlessly singing in English without a hint of a French accent. Although she does combine both languages at times, new listeners often struggle to identify her background upon first listen. Meet newcomer Morena, an independent artist hailing from the Parisian region who like Zouaï has decided to sing in English as well. She started singing and writing music at a young age, and after she finished her studies she began taking music seriously. Her current single “Bad Love” is a stunning track which showcases her breathtaking vocal abilities and impressive lyricism. “Bad Love” flawlessly combines multiple genres such as R&B, pop and indie music–Morena’s smooth vocals float beautifully over the production, lyrically exploring themes of a toxic relationship.
