Salty Licorice releases “Metanoia (p. 179)”, taken from debut EP The Sunrise Cried
Emerging artist Salty Licorice has released her debut EP The Sunrise Cried following her Denniz Pop Awards nomination. Sonically, it’s an ambitious dive into alt-pop’s more experimental corners—effortlessly blending moody R&B vibes with hyperpop textures that feel both intimate and otherworldly.
The focus track “Metanoia (p.179)” takes its name from a Greek word full of contradictions—meaning both transformation and the risk of repeating old mistakes. It’s a gorgeous track led by her ethereal vocal presence and a lyrical touch that feels raw, literary and emotionally-charged. It’s a performance that cements her as one of the best new voices within the alt-pop genre.
