Fresh Sounds [13/05/2022]

Check out some of our favourite new releases this week.

Led by LA-based singer, songwriter and producer BEL, below are 5 songs we’ve had on repeat this morning and early afternoon here in London. Make sure you stream and follow these emerging artists— if you like their music. These songs also feature on our main playlist THE NÜ.

BEL — CAKE

We instantly fell in love with BEL’s previous single “PBR”, a captivating indie pop collaboration with girlhouse— already one of our favourite songs of the year. She’s back with another excellent song, “Cake” is the catchiest song you’ll hear this month. It’s also such a wholesome song, and we can imagine it being played in a movie or TV series.

Cashma — Chick Peas

Hailing from Barnesville, GA, R&B singer-songwriter Cashma is one of the best kept secrets in music. Her latest offering “Chick Peas” showcases her soulful vocals, which flow beautifully over the stunning production.

Johan Lenox — Hitting Different

Johan Lenox continues to bless us with genre-blending tracks, and “Hitting Different” is the standout track off his debut album WDYWTBWYGU.

TRS — leave it alone

Built over a minimal production, TRS’ vocals shine on her new single “leave it alone”. The Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada artist shows why she’s one of the most underrated R&B artists around.

Lono Bristol x Beenie Man — No Religion

Brooklyn, New York artist Lono Bristol makes a stellar return with new single “No Religion” which features legendary Jamaican artist Beenie Man. The sun soaked track is one for the dance floor.
