Talyana – afterglow

Talyana slips into something bright and self-assured on “afterglow”

US-based artist Talyana brings warmth, sheen and a strong sense of self to “afterglow,” a bright pop track built on soft vocals, glossy production and an easy sense of movement. Blending pop, hyperpop and electronic textures, the song feels playful on the surface but grounded by something more intentional underneath.

There is a lightness to “afterglow” that makes it instantly appealing. Silky harmonies and glitchy vocal details give the track its sparkle, while the hook keeps everything lifted and in motion. It feels sleek and fun, but never empty — a song that centres confidence and self-worth without pushing too hard to make its point.

What makes the track land is its balance between polish and personality. Talyana lets the production shine, but the feeling of the song still comes through clearly. There is confidence in it, but also softness. Rather than sounding overly polished or distant, “afterglow” feels open, affirming and easy to connect with. It carries the kind of energy that fits naturally into workout, self-care and feel-good pop spaces, while still feeling rooted in something personal.

That balance feels true to the world Talyana is building. Drawing from early 2000s dance music, anime soundtracks and digital culture, her music carries a sense of colour, imagination and control. As a Black and Filipino artist who writes, produces and shapes her own visual universe, she brings a clear identity to everything she makes.

With “afterglow,” Talyana delivers a track that feels polished, playful and easy to return to. It is bright pop with purpose – confident, warm and full of motion.
