HORNET — feline [EP]

HORNET releases dreamy 4-track debut EP feline

Since “Metro” dropped last year, we were eagerly anticipating more music from the music lady from America known as HORNET. To our delight, she delivered with “silkworm”, a fan-favourite track that’s also featured on the 2024 Slow Dance Records year-end compilation.

Last week, HORNET graced us with a sultry, edgy, and intimate 4-song EP, featuring two new tracks— “meet me 2” and the title track, “feline”. The latter comes with a provocative yet tender music video directed by New York-based photographer and creative Kate Vitali. The EP transports listeners to eerie dreamscapes and the nostalgic comfort of your childhood bedroom, exploring themes of revisiting the past and protecting your inner child. HORNET’s mesmerising voice effortlessly draws you in— dreamy and a perfect match with the lush production.

Overall, feline stands out as a compelling debut that’s bound to resonate with new listeners. She produced and recorded the entire EP on her own while couch surfing in London, all while gigging around the city on a tourist visa— a remarkable display of dedication and talent. Fortunately, she’s now been granted the UK’s Global Talent Visa for Music, allowing her to continue her musical journey in London for the next few years.
