tmdistant x vi0let — nothing new

tmdistant links up with vi0let on dark futuristic R&B track “nothing new”

18-year-old Essex, UK based emerging artist tmdistant showcases his versatility on new single “nothing new”— a dark futuristic R&B track layered with brooding and bass-heavy elements featuring sweet-toned vocals from German-Irish pop/R&B artist vi0let. Built over a captivating electronic-centred production by New York-based producer Abare and laced with earworm melodies throughout, the song explores a roller-coaster relationship between two toxic individuals. The single is accompanied by a striking music video shot by Sorin D. Visuals filmed late at night around Central London.

“This song is about two individuals who are constantly toxic towards each other, they know that they aren’t good together but they are both stubborn. I wrote from the perspective of the man in the relationship who is fed up with the situation he is in with the beautiful woman. In this day and age toxicity has become normalised and it shouldn’t be, so I showed an example of this in the song” — tmdistant.
