Three months after dropping his impressive SO BAD EP, rising star Colby Lafayette is back with another sensational new single, the first of two singles he has planned to release before April. Whereas the SO BAD era was a sort of look back at his teenage years growing up in Boston, MA, on his latest offering “BEST GUY”, he details the highs and lows of a relationship with a particular woman. Once again, there’s this captivating Kendrick Lamar/The Neighbourhood vibe here but with grunge undertones— refreshing to our ears. “On the SO BAD EP I tried to channel and reflect upon my teenage vices. Isolation gave me the chance to explore that time in my life and how it affected who I am. Moving forward, the conversation is continuing into the years after and how those vices changed. On my next two singles, “BEST GUY” and “I’M A FAN,” (dropping in March) the themes evolve to focus on the essence of woman.
